Discover a pinnacle of American numismatic history. This stunning Indian Head $10 Gold Eagle represents one of the most beautiful coin designs ever minted by the United States. Designed by the legendary sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens at the request of President Theodore Roosevelt.
Historic Design: Features Lady Liberty wearing a Native American feathered headdress on the obverse and a majestic standing eagle on the reverse.
List of Issue Years: Early (1907-1908), Middle (1909-1916), Late (1920, 1926, 1930, 1932, 1933)*Issuance frequency decreased after World War I.
1933 was the last year of this series. Due to the issuance of the famous Executive Order 6102 in the United States, requiring citizens to surrender their gold, most of the 1933 gold coins were melted down, making them extremely rare and among the most prized numismatic items.
